The Ohio Valley Tea Party was founded in 2009 to protect and promote traditional family values, the sanctity of human life, a strong national defense, and a productive free market economy. The Ohio Valley Tea Party also believes that the United States Constitution and its defined role for the powers, checks and balances of the federal government should be held in careful balance with individual liberties of the American citizens as the Founders intended. We believe, like our founding fathers;

1. Our government should be limited in both size and power.
2. We are endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights.
3. Our elected officials should be men of integrity, and strong moral character not the lesser of two evils. Strong penalties should exist for those who betray the trust of office.
4. Our candidates should be chosen by the people and not the media.
5. Our media should be open, honest and objective.
6. The United States of America was founded as, and meant to continue a democratic republic and not a socialist or communist state.
7. Our legislators must present, for approval bills that are direct and to the point, with no room for hidden language or agenda.
8. The creation of new bills and laws should not be hidden or undertaken without the knowledge and consent of the American people, not merely someone bought and paid for by a special interest group.
9. Our legislation must be free of wasteful or excessive spending.
10. There must be term limits for all branches of government, no lifetime positions.
11. There must be an end to the "Tax Code" as we know it. A Fair Tax on consumables would prove to be much more effective and productive.
12. The House must not allow legislation to pass by that is loaded with "pet projects" and excessive taxes to pay for it.
13. The unconstitutional 16th ammendment, imposing income tax must be repealed.
14. A federal government that is reduced in size and power will not need as much revenue to operate, therefore federal taxation could be greatly reduced and possibly eliminated for the most part.

America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges ; Barry, Nancy and Harry and they are still trying to define stimulus..."it's spending!!!"

The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that's $800 billion) pork-loaded spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars ($13 per week), making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated], that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV and go home and watch Telemundo!

Word of the Day: Dhimmitude

Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to islam.
The ObamaCare bill is the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia muslim diktat in the United States . Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be "gambling", "risk-taking" and "usury" and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this. How convenient. So I, Ann Barnhardt, a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize muslims. Period. This is Dhimmitude.
Dhimmitude serves two purposes: it enriches the muslim masters AND serves to drive conversions to islam. In this case, the incentive to convert to islam will be taken up by those in the inner-cities as well as the godless Generation X, Y and Z types who have no moral anchor. If you don't believe in Christ to begin with, it is no problem whatsoever to sell Him for 30 pieces of silver. "Sure, I'll be a muslim if it means free health insurance and no taxes. Where do I sign, bro?"

Fare includes tolls and gratuities. We will make rest stops in Pennsylvania and Maryland

 

The driver will deliver us to Union Station, which is only two blocks from the Capitol and will pick us up there at the end of the rally. This eliminates the need to catch a Metro train and keep our cost low.

Michiana 9/12 Project is planning to send a Bus to Washington DC for September 11 and 12 Rallys. We will be leaving from Indiana Toll Road Exit 96 (East Elkhart at CR 17) Commuter Lot at 6:15 PM Friday September 10 and after attending the rally will return very late Sunday or early Monday Morning. We will be staying in a hotel in Arlington just one and a half blocks from a Metro Station.

We stop about every 90 min. for stretch, snacks and Potty brakes. There is a potty in the bus but we use for emergencies.

We stop at Breezewood Exit on the PA Turnpike heading south to DC. There is a great diner there and we have a sit down meal.
Sleep on bus. Bring Sleep mask, neck pillow and ear plugs to create your environment.

We will drop off people who want to tour the capital district at the Crystal City Metro station which is below the Marriott Crystal Gateway where we are staying. Rooms will not be available until after 4 PM so luggage will stay on bus. At Breezewood, you may get needed items out of your suitcase under the bus.
We will take everyone else to Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington about 25 minutes from the hotel at 9 AM if traffic allows. We will stay there until about 4:00 PM until the bus picks us up and takes us to the hotel.

We will finish the monument tour and pick up the Capital District group at 4:00 PM and head to the hotel.
There is a gathering of some national Tea Party Groups in the area and we will have details if you prefer to attend them on Saturday.

Optional non-denominational prayer service will begin at 10:00 am eastern time at the Washington Memorial. After the service, we gather in Freedom Plaza to begin the March at 12:00 noon up Pennsylvania Avenue to the West Lawn of the Capitol (same location as last year). The Tea Party will begin on the West Lawn at 2:00 pm eastern Get best place available on the mall lawn. (Bring Chairs with sun blocking Canopy or umbrella. There is no shade where the best seats are.
Bus will be boarded at designated area two hours after the end of the event. About 7 PM.

Bus will arrive in South Bend by 9AM Monday 9/13.
